The Happening Band was formed in Moscow in June 1994 by Al (Alexey) Karakovski (vocals, guitar) and Michael Gusman (bass, vocal) as a street band. Al Karakovski is well known as political activist. He founded some independent festivals, publishing series. Current line-up: Al Karakovski (vocals, guitar), Michael Gusman (bass, vocals), Tim Lyakhovski (clarinet, flute), Alexander Baranov (drums).
